Barstow 2010 Encampment

Fellow members of the 71st,

We have an oppurtunity to do a nearby Encampment for Training and Recruiting on October 2nd and 3rd. It will be in Helendale, CA which is between Victorville and Barstow. the address is 15425 Wildroad.

The program goes from 9am till 8pm on that Saturday, and is at least worth the day trip out. We will also have over night accomadations on both Friday night and Saturday night along with some light activities on Sunday.

More information will be provided as it becomes available. This will be our "official" event between Huntington Beach at the begining of September, and Spring Mountain Ranch at the end of October.

Spring Mountain Ranch 2010

Fellow members of the 71st PVI,

Attached is all of the basic information you need to know about Spring Mountian Ranch 2010. This will be our 5th year in putting the event on. This is not just an ACWS event, or an SNLHA event... it is also a 71st event as half of our membership lives in Las Vegas, NV and helps to host this event. So if you can lend a hand with setup, tear down, or the school day in addition to participating - your help is most appreciated.

  1. Public Flyer for 2010
  2. Reenactor Pre-Reg Form 2010
  3. Reenacting Unit Pre-Reg Form 2010
  4. Reenacting Unit Pre-Reg List 2010

I hope to see all of you there in october. It is a fun event and draws in Reenactors from Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah who you may never have met before.

As many of you know this is also our last event for the 2010 Reenacting season, so it is also a great time for friendship and fellowship prior to the ACWS Ball and Live Fire in January.

OERM is back for 2010

Fellow members of the 71st PVI,

The Orange Empire Railroad Museum event is back in 2010. Due to resource management the event has been pushed back from September 25th to September 18th and 19th. This means that the event can no longer be a "FULL PUSH" event for our Unit. However, we would ask anyone who can attend to do so as it is still an ACWS event. Especially for those who were unable to attend Huntington Beach, CA, or cannot make the October 2nd event in Barstow, CA.

The 71st PVI will either fall in with the 2nd IVRC, or as part of an ad-hoc Federal Infantry Unit for this event. Please see me about attending, and how to get ahold of loaner gear if you need it.
